American Friends of Neve Hanna http://www.nevehanna.org/ Neve Hanna is an enchanted children's home, residing in Kiryat Gat. It houses tens of children taken out of their homes by the Ministry of Welfare, because of various reasons. The children live in a family environment, within the family houses. We have 4 pre-nursery groups, 2 teenage groups, 3 groups of after-school day care facilities, out of which one involves both Bedouin and Jewish children.
Neve Hanna is a very unique place, reinventing itself constantly. The children's house has an amazingly beautiful animal space, a bakery which provides the children the value of work, wide and diverse educational activities and a staff of tens of individuals, whose common denominator is the love of children.
Neve Hanna is a warm home for the children, in which they receive love, warmness, help, a sympathetic ear, guidance and a caressing hand. In Neve Hanna each child grows, evolves, learns and grows wings in order to spread them after his stay with us and fly as high as possible. Of course, we are waiting down here, on the ground, with a huge net of support – in order to catch him in case he falls.
Nalaga’at Or http://www.nalagaat.org.il/hazon.php The "Nalaga'at" non-profit organization was established in 2002, as a theater group whose actors are all deaf-blind. At the core of the deaf-blind theater ensemble project, is a constant search for a unique "theatrical language" for the group, as well as the wish to take action toward increasing awareness of deaf-blind persons' needs, in Israel and the rest of the world.
The "Nalaga'at" Center creates and will continue to create workplaces for the deaf, blind and deaf-blind, and allows its employees to make a living while expressing themselves artistically. The "Nalaga'at" Center is a place where deaf, blind, deaf-blind, hearing and seeing people, work together and share the belief that through an active stand and a constant search for new means of communication - they can and must change reality. "Nalaga'at" brings deaf, blind and deaf-blind people together with hearing and seeing people from Israel and throughout the world on a cultural and artistic basis, through a unique experience.
Cystic Fibrosis Foundation http://www.cff.org Cystic fibrosis is an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States (70,000 worldwide). A defective gene and its protein product cause the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that: • clogs the lungs and leads to life-threatening lung infections; and • obstructs the pancreas and stops natural enzymes from helping the body break down and absorb food. In the 1950s, few children with cystic fibrosis lived to attend elementary school. Today, advances in research and medical treatments have further enhanced and extended life for children and adults with CF. Many people with the disease can now expect to live into their 30s, 40s and beyond.
The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, a nonprofit donor-supported organization, is to assure the development of the means to cure and control cystic fibrosis and to improve the quality of life for those with the disease.
Child Life Society ChildLifeSociety.org Child Life Society was created to help make life
for Jewish children with cystic fibrosis (CF) as normal and enjoyable as
possible.
